Privacy policy

CanadaOneStep collects as little as it can. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• When you buy a guide: your name and email, the guide you bought, and the payment record (amount, date and the payment reference). Your card, UPI or bank details go straight to Razorpay or Stripe; we never see them.
• When you email us: your message and email address.
• When you use the eligibility check: your answers are used to show you a result on the page. We do not ask for your name and do not keep your answers.
• Technical data: our host keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to run and protect the site.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we do not sell personal information.

Why we use it

• To deliver your guide, send updated editions for 12 months, and answer your questions.
• To handle refunds, prevent fraud, and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.

Who we share it with

• Payment providers: Razorpay (India) and Stripe, to take and refund payments.
• Hosting and email providers that run the site and our mailbox, under their own data protection terms.
• Authorities, only where the law requires it.

These providers may process data outside your country, including in India, Canada, the United States and the European Union.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally up to 8 years). Emails are kept while we are helping you and then for up to 2 years. Server logs are kept for a short period only.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under Canada's PIPEDA and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted where we are not required to keep it, and you can withdraw consent to updates at any time. Email support@canadaonestep.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live.
